That was NOT better than Nigel.

Annabel and Jojo are such a likeable couple.

A final without them is not a final I’ll be that interested in.
Same. I don't care if they win but I want to see them dance together as often as I can and the final would be so much poorer without them.

Layton is undoubtedly a very good dancer but every dance feels like a show dance

Re: The Ratings Thread (Part 75)
PaulJoseph22 wrote: »The 6.95m figure that IAC got is still very good. As well, the consolidated figure is likely to be over 8.5m for the launch. ITV won't be at all disappointed with 6.95m overnight for the launch and I'd say it's good that the BBC didn't launch the Traitors this week as it would suffer quite badly in the ratings. Last night's episode did feel same old though especially with the heights trial which they seem to do every year now. Tonight's episode is an eating trial. I imagine it'll be a better episode and the audience retention will be quite high.
I'd say 6.3m for tonight's IAC.
What did those trashy reality shows like I am a zeleb and Strictly come Sh***ing get in their heyday?
Have both shows halved their ratings when compared to now?
There's less childish ways of naming TV shows I suspect you don't like.

Re: This Is Most Definitely Not An Appreciation Thread - Part 26
Morning all!
Be careful what you wish for Dotties. I was cheesed right off that I was flying across the Atlantic and would miss tonights show. Daughter number 2 taken to hospital for an emergency surgery and flight cancelled!
Thankfully she is fine and I can hopefully tune in later. Although I’m not sure I want to watch Bobby’s dance and witness the snotfest and group blubbing.
I'm sorry to hear that, I hope she is ok and that you get your holiday albeit delayed.
I'm going to get my unappreciation in early for the 40 that Ellie and Vito's AT is undoubtedly going to get. Yes, it will probably deserve it, yes I know it doesn't really mean anything, and yes, getting a 9 from His Snarkiness can actually help with the public... But I will still be deeply irritated on behalf of a certain other AT. Not the least because Vito is beginning to irritate me even when I've muted the telly.

Every person I know who voted for Brexit, now regrets it. - I’m beginning to think Farage is a bit simple and not as smart as he thinks he is.

Exactly. It is probably one of the campest shows on TV; certainly the campest in a pre-watershed time slot.
To read some of of the comments about Layton here you’d think he was taking part in that SAS show or something, not a show where Craig routinely does drag and Bruno was falling off his chair making double entendres for years on end. It’s bizarre*.
*not really because we all know why they’re objecting to him deep down.
I saw a comment on Twitter about their dance by someone saying about how "its a teatime show, we don't want it being raunchy", I think my response was '19 years too late to be complaining about that'
Not sure how many people watch Strictly to watch crotch thrusting and pole dancing. I certainly don't, and I'd be surprised if many people did. I also don't appreciate cartwheels and handstands and backflips or any variations of, they should be in a gymnastic competition, not dance.
Did you make a formal complaint about the cartwheel Annabel did in her jive?

Re: What is the deal with the judges and Nigel?
SeasideLady wrote: »nThe_abbott wrote: »SeasideLady wrote: »Veraclaythorne77 wrote: »I don't think Nigels in any danger this week.
I imagine it's between Layton, Annabel and Angela.
He might be, Rumba is a hard dance for anyone and Nigel's bound to make more mistakes. Plus Katya doesn't seem to hammer home technique, she's more for style over substance. We're at the business end of the competition now and Shirley will be watching that Rumba very closely as we all know !
Bobby's votes took a tumble last week, so he could be in danger again.
Votes wise Layton and Ellie will sail through, so it's between the other 4 now deciding who's going or staying.
Katya is a multiple World and British champion. I think she might know a bit about technique.
Not discrediting her competitive success, and didn't say she doesn't ! But on Strictly she's known for her sometimes wacky innovative choreography, with technique and finesse often taking a back seat, and that's what she concentrates on, maybe to distract the judges from her partner's shortcomings.
Most of her partners haven't been very talented, so in order to get through to next week she puts in a memorable moment - which seems to work. Its an extra skill to get duffers further than they should. This year, Katya has only done one big lift in the Salsa so the rest have just been acting and dancing. Nigel hasn't done many people pleasing routines either - Charleston, American Smooth or Argentine Tango which all involve lifts to distract. So to get this far, without her normal 'distraction' style is impressive.
