Aside from Traitor related interviews, who's done or planning to do what with their new found status.

Diane is said to be lined up for Celebrity Masterchef.

Harry was in the audience for Dancing on Ice last night. I wasn't watching, so didn't catch what he said!

After Ross’ not so kind words about her cooking? 😂

Harry has turned down Celeb Big Brother despite being offered 250k. He has a new management team and felt it was the wrong direction for him.

Jaz got to do a feature on This Morning where he got to go to Devon and discover things about Agatha Christie.

Most of them go back to their normal jobs such as Ash although she works for Transport for London and so featured in their social media posts.

At risk of being a downer, I think it's the 'life after Traitors' that will be its undoing. It happens with all shows that use supposed ordinary members of the public after about three series, when the participants know that it matters not whether you win or lose, but how you self-promote. Obviously you've got to be a certain type in the first place to even consider applying, let alone actually sign-up to be on TV, but post series three - if it's not already - it will be seen as basically a showreel for both the participants and media companies to find the next 'talent'. I don't blame the participants or casting agencies one bit and I'd do the same in their shoes, but I think the more we see ex-participants popping up on every other 'celeb' reality show, the less credible and more of a joke the show will become, as the participants start literally acting up for the cameras, not simply as a strategy to survive.

A 'certain type', eh? Given that I applied for S2, does that 'certain type' imply that you assume I'm 'obviously' a shameless narcissist/self-publicist who wants to act up for the cameras on every TV show going?

Nothing could be further from the truth. It was the first TV show I'd ever applied to be on - or that had ever appealed to me to try and be on - and I applied because (a) I thought it would be good fun, (b) I wanted to see at first hand how it's constructed and (c) I think stereotypically 'older' people are invariably portrayed as doddery old f*ckw*ts on 'reality' television. A myth the first series did nothing to dispel and which I wanted to actually do something, however small, to dispel.

Going through the application process was interesting and creative. But I'm glad I wasn't chosen. Not least because I'm very private as a person and also the nonsense and sweeping generalisations bandied about on places like this and soshul meeja, by people who see someone on TV and immediately assume that they somehow 'know' them.

But had I been chosen - as unlikely as that prospect was - I would have had the balls to go through with it. That's the sort of 'certain type' I am.

However, this 'certain type' has not applied for S3 and you won't be seeing me on a pointless place in a bed dining with me on a bargain hunt for cash in the attic as I flog it in the country (etc) 👍

    <snip>

Not at all. The 'certain type' I refer to is that you've got to be at least at little bit extrovert to apply in the first place to potentially be willing to put yourself on display on a primetime, massively popular TV show if accepted. I also specifically said it tends to happen after about three series precisely because it usually takes that long to see what sort of reaction a show and its participants get from the audience and world at large. You say you applied for S2, which is probably the last vaguely 'real' series there will be.

You say you're glad you weren't chosen though. Is that in hindsight, having watched that series, or would you have turned it down if selected?

As I said, if selected I'd have had the cojones to do it, absolutely I would. (Or should I say 'one hundred percent', as the Welsh lady from S1 was very fond of saying :))

But as the series unfolded (with the benefit of hindsight, as you say) I was reminded of how so many viewers get so drawn in that they lose sight of it being a carefully-constructed, manipulated reality, not real reality (if you will). And despite the participants of course behaving differently in such an environment to how they behave in real life, viewers judge them on it and the grubby gossip that the tabloids inevitably go around raking up.

Had I been chosen, I wouldn't have come out afterwards and trieed to build a career based on TV appearances. I'd have worn a hat, dark glasses and a fake beard until everyone had forgotten about it :D

Fair play, I take your point about S3 and I agree.

That's certainly a risk, but I think it's up to how the production team select contestants whether it happens. There are reality shows like The Great British Bake Off which in my view have not been marred by self-production.

Apparently Aaron from S1 was on First Dates a couple of weeks ago (6th Feb episode I think). I’ve not watched it yet though.

I'm not sure if contestants acting up for the cameras will be much of an issue, I think it'd be difficult to keep that up anyway.

Plus, they're all 'acting up' in a way given the nature of the game.

Scraping the barrel with their comeback series if they're already chasing Traitors cast members lol

Not at all, the show has been huge. I'd rather see them than 'influencers' or Gemma Collins.

I’m glad he’s not doing that and hope he chooses wisely in what he does in the future. I’m not sure what I can see him doing tbh.

I’m not sure he’s gone back to the army yet from his Instagram videos.

I’d be quite happy to not see any of the others again.

He'd mentioned leaving the army in one of his post show interviews.

There's so much of this happening now. I've been in her exact position (and I wasn't on the telly).

I don't know what else they can do - maybe have the participants not be allowed to use social media at all while they're on it and hand it over to someone else.
