    Stephen charming the locals again.

Hmmm not sure how I feel about the use of planes.

Well if going through China was no longer a viable option I guess they didn't really have much in the way of alternatives.

Any other mode of transport would have been better than a plane imo.

Is there even another option though? A ship would seem to be the only option. But given the distance by sea from South Korea to Vietnam, I'm not sure such a service even exists.

Even if there was the time taken would have thrown everything out of kilter. I assume those contestants with jobs would have only taken a certain amount of time off work etc, sometimes practicalities have to outweigh the overall spirit of the race.

If it was really a later decision to miss out China presumably that would help their budgets. Probably was planned well in advance though.

I know you have to keep an eye on your budget, but on a known elimination leg, I think I'd forget about earning money, and just focus on getting to the checkpoint.

I've travelled quite a bit in Vietnam and Cambodia and timetables really don't exist. Buses and trains leave when they leave and get there when they do.

I hope Brydie and Sharon don’t get eliminated but it’s not looking good for them.

And going through North Korea and Russia wouldn't have been possible either.

It could have made for some high octane TV!

I presume those people who lost their maps aren't allowed to buy another one (even if they could find one).

Stephen: "Why are all these kids running about instead of being in school? Wouldn't happen at my school" 😡

    Viv: It's the holidays Steve..

Finding Alfie an interesting character, clearly things that have happened in his childhood have affected him. Ive found him too intense on the show and i'd find that annoying but maybe in a more chilled atmoshere than a televised 'race' he might be more tolerable.

    He angers me

He seems like one of those Brits abroad who is annoyed that the place is full of foreigners.

It would have been interesting to see him attempt to cross into North Korea if they were able to have gone that way!
